Moving space, not just ships.
A warp drive would contract space ahead of a craft and expand it behind. Whether that can be built is an open question. We are working on it.
What the physics asks for.
Warp-drive metrics, such as the Alcubierre solution, are valid in general relativity but demand exotic energy conditions. The open questions are energy requirements, stability and whether physically realistic sources exist.
Our work is theoretical and computational: modelling spacetime geometries, analysing energy conditions and testing which constraints can be relaxed.
